Tritium is a Radioactive Isotope of Hydrogen. It will glow for over 10 Year without any maintenance. It's half life is about 12.5 years. Basically, a glass tube is lined with phosphorus and then filled with Tritium gas. It is sealed by laser. As the tritium decays, it causes the phosphorus to glow. Tritium is used in safety signs, the military, in watches, Nuclear Fuel fusion reactors. It is deemed safe in such small amounts such a these. The cost for Tritium is $30,000 per Gram. Commercial Demand is about half a Kilo a year.
